My latest thrift find. I found one of these at another op shop about a month ago but it wasn’t a pair so i didn’t buy it. This weekend though i found a pair and huzzah! $4. Bargain, i know! Saw a new Vinnies out in Zillmere the other day so i think i’m going to sneak out there this weekend when no one is watching.

I freakin love D.I.Y

Who doesnt want one of these radical coat racks? I made a dodgy one not long ago out of thin pipes from bunnings, im scarred to walk past it because its thin and bending in the middle from the weight of my 8 items of clothing on it :(   Here is the place for the wonderful d.i.y. Get to it!

The Story Book Rabbit

I can not tell you how much i am in love with these. So I’ll just shower you with some pretty pictures instead :)

You can purchase these pretty plates from here.

Mad Men Furniture

I’m in love with Mad Men. Most people know the hit series and if you don’t, then stop reading this and go hire it out IMMEDIATELY. The fashions are amazing, the acting is great but one thing about the show that engages the audience is the authenticity of the sets. The magazines they read, the advertising, the clothing, the furniture, even the hair! I’m in love with all the furniture and have been trying to source some pieces. I came across this store in New Farm ( Brisbane ) that has furniture from 1947-1974. Mostly from Australia, but some from Overseas to. I do look at these and know I could find some at op shops but with furniture I think your best bet is to go directly to a store like this where you know it’s clean, and in good condition. Add Vintage is located at 27 Nile Street Woolloongabba and has a Antique centre at New Farm. Here is the Web Address.

THRIFTIN, RECYCLIN, OPURTUNITIN, SECOND HANDIN IT UP!

It’s taken me about a month but I have just completed a huge list ( over 340 ) of op shops, thrift stores, charity, recycled clothing, second-hand, vintage stores or whatever you want to call it! I’ve included phone numbers so you can call ahead to check there opening times. I have also split them up into regions so you can plan a day trip to the south side or maybe you prefer the north side? Summer time is coming and you could plan a trip to the coast and check out a few second-hand stores there also. Soon will be adding all markets that sell vintage or thrift items to. I would love to hear about your finds, leave me a comment. Or if you know one that isn’t here I’d love to hear from you. Happy thrifting!

You can find the list here.
